Following are the competition prices. You should have already paid a $75.00 deposit towards the price below. If you did so you will owe the difference. This is also due by January 31st. Along with your costumes. If you have not yet looked at our competition schedule please do so I posted it last August. I suggest that you get your hotel booked for St. George asap. Remember that the St. George and Saratoga Springs competition your daughters will be taking a master class from a professional dancer usually from the SYTYCD. This is included in the price below.

MASTER CLASS WITH CHELSIE HIGHTOWER!!!!!

I am sooooo excited to announce that Chelsie Hightower will be teaching a master class at our studio on Saturday January 7th! I will need to get a head count of who will be attending. The more people the less it will cost you. It will cost any where between $30.00 and $40.00.  We will have two different classes one for the younger girls and one for the older girls. There will be a sign up sheet on the front desk at the studio or you can leave me a message here! Please let me know by the end of this week so I can set the price. This could be a great stocking stuffer for Christmas!

The studio will be closed November 21st and 22nd for Thanksgiving. December 21st through January 2nd dance will begin on the 3rd! Merry Christmas!

ATTENTION PREMIERS

We will be doing a combined 3rd routine with two other teams.  This will be optional for the premiers. This will cost more for a 3rd costume and entry fees somewhere around $100.00. If you are wanting your daughter to be in this extra routine she will have a practice on saturday from 9:00-12:00.  We will also be having more practices so please continue to check the blog.

SATURDAY PRACTICES

We will be having Saturday practices for those teams that will be doing one an extra routine. These practices are mandatory and each girl must be there in order to be in the routine.

FALL BREAK

There will be NO dance classes held this Thursday due to fall break! Everyone enjoy!

ATTENTION PARENTS

We would like to ask each of you to please make your checks out for the exact change when paying for something that has tax on it.  This will make our lives so much easier. It really messes with our book keeping and the tax deposit that we have to pay to the state. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE help us with this problem!

PRACTICE OUTFITS

The practice tank tops would be cared for best by washing inside out and hung to dry. This will help the glitter stay on the tank with out cracking!

PRACTICE OUTFITS

Our new practice outfits will be ready soon.  Each girls is required to have one. The girls can pick them up when they are paid for. The price will be $26.69 for the tank and hot shorts.

EPIC INFORMATION

We will be meeting at the studio on Friday at 1:30 to get loaded up and headed up to Midway. We will need some help carpooling. If there are two moms from the Elites and Senior Companies that should make enough room for everyone.  Please let me know asap. The girls will be dancing on Friday from 4:00 until 9:00 and Saturday from 8:00 until about 4:30.  They will be fed dinner on Friday night and lunch on Saturday.  They will be on their own for all other meals.  Please send them with snacks.  I have the rooms divided up, if there are any specific requests please let me know. The oldest girls will not have an adult in their room but we will all be on the same floor. On Saturday starting at 3:30 the girls showcase their routines that they have learned.  Anyone is invited to come and watch.  We will also need carpools home as well.

The girls need to pack all black clothes to dance in on Friday and we will use our practice outfits for Saturday. {i will have the new practice outfits by Thursday}  They need to pack clothes for ballet class, lyrical, contemporary, and hip hop. Including all shoes for each class.  They do sell EPIC clothing if they want a keepsake so please send them with extra money if they are wanting that. I hope that I have not missed anything please let me know if you have any other questions.

YOUTH JACKET PRICING

The youth jacket will be $45.77 and will also be $8.00 extra for a name on the front left chest. The pants will be the same pricing as the adult.  If you already sent in a check for the adult pricing we will apply the difference to your account.

EPIC DANCE WEEKEND

Please remember to have Epic and your hotel room paid for before October 5th.  I will have a schedule by the end of this week. I will also get the car pools arranged.

Joni Surgery

I wanted to let you all know that I will be having my gall bladder removed this Thursday.  I have not been feeling well and have had to get subs for my classes.  I apologize and hope to have a speedy recovery.  Most people I talk to say they are back to work within 4 days.  If you have questions please feel free to call even if it is on Thursday.

Monday September 26th

Regular dance classes this week. The youth sizes are here to try on.  The warm up and sweat orders are due the end of this week.  I will have more information on the practice outfits later this week.

I guess the Youth sizes will not be here until friday so I will extend the due date to next friday!

Update on Youth size jackets

We have not been able to find a cream jacket in the youth sizes.  We can get them in white or brown. The samples to try on will be here tomorrow.  Please just put what color you would prefer on your order form and I will go with the majority. I apologize for any inconvenience.

Epic will be held on October 7th and 8th up in Midway at the Zurmitt Lodge. I am checking on the exact schedule.  I will post it as soon as I have it.  We might need to help carpooling up and back home. Please let me know if you can help.

Now that school is back in and everyone is getting back into the swing of things please make sure that being to dance is part of that routine. You need to be on time for stretching and stay the FULL time for choreography. Please also make sure you are going to ballet. Shannon will be giving me a report at the end of the month.

2012 COMPETITION SCHEDULE

Here is what we came up with. We did decide to go with the Releve in St. George for a few reasons. They did schedule it to where the girls where not competiting all day long they get them in and out. I checked on Dance Americas location and it was not at Dixie State. I also found one that is held at Maple Mountain High School YEAH! (We did attend this one a few years ago up in syracuse and it was ran really well and on time)

EPIC DANCE CONVENTION

We are sooo excited that the majority of you where on board for this event. We will still make it optional for those who did not want to attend. We will need an exact count of who is going by Wednesday August 24th. If you could send at least a $50.00 deposit by then to hold your spot that would be great. Once you commit you must go. I will arrange all the hotel rooms that should roughly be around $30.00 a person. I am not sure what the taxes are so I will find out exactly how much from the hotel. The remainder of the convention will need to be paid along with the hotel room by September 30th. There will be a sign up sheet on the front desk for those who will be going. Moms if you are interested please also put your name down. We are so EXCITED!

NEW BASIC TUMBLING CLASS

Sydney and/or Toby Gunter will be teaching some basic tumbling skills for Ariel's, back walk overs, and standing back hand springs. These classes are open to anyone and are optional but highly recommended. There will be a class held on Tuesdays from 6:30-7:30 and Wednesdays 7:30-8:30 they will begin next week. If anyone is interested in a Saturday Morning class please let me know.
We will be selling a punch pass for 10 classes that will be $35.00 and you can choose to use those ten punches any time.

Monday August 15th

Regular dance classes this week. We will be starting choreography so please everyone be to class. I will have the competition dates posted this week. The warm up order forms I am going to send home next week along with the new sweat option.

MONDAY THE 8TH DANCE SCHEDULE

We will be having classes on Monday until 7:00 p.m. if your class begins at 7 please just head to the pool. The party will only be for the dancers and one or two parents. We can't wait to see you all there!

SUMMER WORKSHOP ON JULY 30TH

I have some information on a one day convention up in South Jordan. The teachers will be fabulous. This is a great opportunity for you girls to learn and grow. The cost is $75.00 for class and lunch. If you are interested you can go to www.themotiontour.net to sign up. I just thought I would pass along the info to you guys!

SOLOS, DUOS, AND TRIOS

If any of you are interested in competing in one of the above now is the time to get the scheduled. You can choose who you would like to choreograph for you. You will be in charge of getting yourself registered for competitions and finding costumes. The cost for a solo is $250.00 a duo is $200.00 per girl a trio is $150.00 per girl. This will be due the first practice. This includes the choreography and 5 practices to learn and clean. If there are any additional practices needed or wanted it will be $25.00 an hour. You will just need to call the teacher you are interested in and set up rehearsals.

POOL PARTY/PARENT MEETING

We will be holding a Parent meeting at the Spanish Fork Pool on Monday August 8th. The meeting will begin at 7:30 and swimming will be from 8:30-10:00. We will be discussing this upcoming dance year and the changes we will be making. We have some fun new exciting events for this year. We will also have most the information on pricing for competitions and costuming. Please have at least one parent present at the meeting.

You will now be required to sign contracts for the 2011-2012 Dance year. They will need to be signed the first week of class along with a deposit paid in order to be on any team. You will not be allowed to tryout if you have an outstanding balance there will be NO exceptions

Recital Times

The Recital will be held this Saturday may 7th @ the Spanish Fork High School Auditorium.
The Senior show will begin at 7:30 the girls need to be there at 7:00. The Elites and Seniors need to be there at 6:30 to perform in the Junior show. The Junior show starts at 6:00 for those of you that have daughters in that show and they need to be there at 5:30.

The Elites and Seniors have a rehearsal on Sat morning at 9:00-10:00 with Kate. The rest of the teams will not be having one.

Classes will begin June 6th and run for six weeks ending on July 15th. Auditions will be held July 18th 19th and 20th. Fall classes will begin August 8th. If you are currently on a team you are required to take summer classes in order to try out again for next season.

Please come with the team that you are currently on unless asked by one of the teachers to join a different class. We will also be having an optional combo class. This class will be a fun class where they will learn short choreography pieces each week to help with style and learning quickly.

Hair and Makeup

Moms I am soo soo soo sorry I totally spaced that I need to post this. Please read carefully and have done before you get to the high school.

PETITES, PREMIERS, ENCORES
Hair should be slicked (please slick it while it is wet and use a lot of hairspray) straight back into a curly ponytail in the middle of your head

ALL OTHER TEAMS
Take the top middle section of your hair and rat it up and pin it back into a bump and the rest of the hairs is slicked back into a straight pony tail in the middle of your head.

MAKE UP
You all should have a makeup kit so we all have the exact same makeup on. if for some reason you have still not purchased this I will have some at the school with me tomorrow.

Apply foundation all over face. Also put some on the eyelids so the shadow will stay on longer
Apply the lightest color all over the lid and in the inside corner of you the eye
Apply the next darkest shade to the lower lid of the eye
Apply the darkest color to the crease and outside corner of the eye
Apply black eyeliner to the top eyelid
Apply mascara and fake eyelashes
Apply a very good amount of blush
Lipstick should be applied just before they go on to perform
Please put a good amount of makeup on this should not look like everyday makeup it is performance makeup!

Please be sure to follow all that we ask of you. It is really frustrating when some people think they are the exception and don't have to do what is expected of them. Our teams will look more unified and professional if we all follow the above steps.

JUAN DIEGO HIGH SCHOOL SCHEDULE

Here is the schedule for this coming Saturday. Please be at the Juan Diego High School one hour before your scheduled time to perform completely ready with hair done nicely and makeup on with fake eyelashes and earrings. Please have the girls in either their warmups or practice outfits while they are not performing and at awards. Please come to awards and support our studio. Also cheer loud for any of our teams that you see performing. The school is located at 300 east 11800 south in Draper. Entrances will be on the south and west sides of the school.

I do apologize in advanced for how long this competition is and I hope that it will run smoothly. There are a few different award times but I am not sure what they are awarding at what time. I will try to get that clarified. This is NOT the final schedule times could change before next friday so please check back next week.

ELITES SCHEDULE FOR NEXT WEEK

The Elites will still be performing on Tuesday the 22nd they will just need to go straight from the practice to the SF High School I will give them time to get ready at the practice. Sorry this is the only way it will work out. They still will have practice on Monday @ the High School at 5:45 after dance at the studio.

MANDATORY PRACTICE @ RIVERVIEW ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

We will be having mandatory practices next week at the Riverview elementary school which is located across the street from the Spanish Fork softball field complex. If you have dance on this same day this practice will take place of your regular class time if it does not this will be an extra practice and all of your other class times will stay the same.

Recital Fee

The Recital Fee will be $25.00 for one student or $35.00 for more than one student per family. Please have this paid with your April tuition. This makes it possible for the show to be free to all the public. Thank You!

The following teams will be performing this Friday at Salem Hills High in the gymnasium. This is a fundraiser for their drill team. The girls need to be there at 6:30 the show starts at 7:00. Please meet in the small practice gym next to the main gym.

HAIR AND MAKEUP FOR FRIDAY

Elites: Diana will let you know makeup is the same as last year.

Divas: Hair is to be parted on the left and SLICKED nicely into a straight pony tail in the middle back of your head. Please use hair spray and put some effort into it. please use your makeup kits if you have it. I have a few left at the studio the rest will be here soon. Apply the lightest shadow all over the eyelid then the middle color to the lower lid and the darkest to the crease and outside corner. Please put on a good amount of the eyeshadow, blush, and lipstick. This is not everyday makeup it should look to dark especially for the younger girls. Also apply fake eyelashes.

Petites: Hair has no part and is slicked back into a high curly ponytail. Please refer to the divas makeup instructions.

Everyone is to be at Maple Mt high school at 6:30 on Friday completely ready to perform.
Practice will be on Thursday @ 3:00 for the Elites and Divas I know this is early but please try to get there on time we only have until 3:45 Petites please try to get there by 3:20 they all really need to practice so they are not confused. The practice and performance will be in the auditorium.

COMMITMENT

We would like to let you all know that it is way too late in the game to be pulling your child out of dance. The competitions and costumes have all been paid for so there for you will owe us that money regardless if your daughter finishes out the year. Please be considerate to the other girls on the team and how it affects everyone.

COSTUME AND ENTRY FEE PRICES

Following are the prices for each team. These amounts will need to be paid in full by March 11th including tuition up to date or your daughter will not be allowed to compete.
NO EXCEPTIONS! You will need in addition to your costumes the following: makeup kit, dance shoes, earrings (if this is your first year competing you will receive only the earrings free of charge), tights. This is all available at the studio. Please feel free to start sending small payments for the costumes and entry fees but please do NOT round up the prices and make sure you pay the tax on the costumes.

****Elite and Senior Companies we are going to reuse the black unitards from last year to help with costume costs. If you are new to the studio you will have to pay for one the cost is $21.29 If yours has holes in them Lisa will gladly sew them up for you. Please let me know if you need a new one. The price listed below does not have this included in it.
